One of the most confusing parts of applying to art and design schools is building a portfolio—and every discipline has different expectations. Whether you’re applying for Fine Art, Animation, Architecture, or Fashion Design, knowing what to include (and avoid) is key to building a strong, discipline-specific application.
This post breaks down portfolio requirements by subject, with checklists and tips that simplify the process for students—and help parents and teachers support them too.
🖌️ 1. Fine Art Portfolio

What to Include:
✔ Life drawings (figures, still life)
✔ Personal projects and sketchbook pages
✔ Conceptual works (themes, symbolism)
